Hello Terrapin Family! My name is Derek Jackson and I'm so excited meet all of you! I've worked with children all my life and I plan to continue for years to come. I like to consider myself a superhero without the cape, and if I could be a superhero, it would be Black Panther! I'm an elementary school teacher and I coach basketball, flag football, mentor, tutor, and DJ on the side! I love to dance, play basketball and truly enjoy spending time with my two beautiful daughters and family. I'm always looking to have FUN as everyone should and can't wait to have FUN with you! While I love to coach and play sports I'm always down for new adventures. See you all this summer at Terrapin STEM & Sports Summer Camp!

Hello, Terrapin STEM & Sports Camp Families! I am a Media Specialist with Howard County Public Schools and have over ten years of experience developing and teaching elementary STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and mathematics) programs. I also have a master's degree in Instruction, Curriculum Design, and Assessment and a master's degree in School Library Media. I have over twenty-five years of teaching experience.
I aim to make STEM education accessible to all students, specifically those underrepresented in STEM fields. I love operating Terrapin STEM & Sports Camp, nature walks, reading, and participating in community events. |
