Welcome to Terrapin STEM & Sports Camp!

Terrapin STEM Camp provides a well-rounded summer experience for students in grades K-6. The education focus is hands-on Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) programs. Our campers also enjoy swimming and game-like sports conditioning that will ensure kids sleep at night!
Students, who have completed grades 6, 7, or 8 may choose to participate in Terrapin STEM Camp's Leadership program. |

Camp is located at 106 St Mary's Pl, Laurel, MD 20707 in the elementary school. Campers swim at the Laurel Municipal Swimming Pool which is within walking distance.

DEREK JACKSON, CAMP DIRECTOR
Hello Terrapin Family! My name is Derek Jackson and I'm so excited meet all of you! I've worked with children all my life and I plan to continue for years to come. I like to consider myself a superhero without the cape, and if I could be a superhero, it would be Black Panther! I'm an elementary school teacher and I coach basketball, flag football, mentor, tutor, and DJ on the side! I love to dance, play basketball and truly enjoy spending time with my two beautiful daughters and family. I'm always looking to have FUN as everyone should and can't wait to have FUN with you! While I love to coach and play sports I'm always down for new adventures. See you all this summer at Terrapin STEM & Sports Summer Camp!

AMI HOLDEN, CAMP DIRECTOR
Hey, Techies! I am a Media Specialist with Howard County Public Schools and have over ten years of experience developing and teaching elementary STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics) programs. I have a masters degree in Instruction, Curriculum Design & Assessment and a masters degree in School Library Media. I also have over twenty-five years of teaching experience.
My vision is to make STEM education accessible to all students, specifically those underrepresented in STEM fields. I love operating Terrapin STEM Camp, nature walks with my dog, reading, and participating in community events. |
